Gov. DeSantis needs to veto bill harmful to small business owners

Florida’s smaller enterprises do a great service to the state. They produce work opportunities, provide the products and companies individuals need, and gather and send gross sales taxes to the state.

Remitting product sales tax revenue can be trickier than it appears, which is a single of the good reasons why, if the state audits a tiny company, there is certainly a good opportunity it’s more than product sales tax payments.

Below a monthly bill awaiting action by Gov. DeSantis, condition tax audits for tiny corporations will get a whole lot worse. Penalties would improve and the means of smaller enterprise house owners to protect on their own would be hamstrung. Little enterprise proprietors would be stopped from presenting added proof observed right after the initial audit to verify that the state’s tax estimate is incorrect.

Which is why Florida’s tiny enterprise entrepreneurs are pleading with Gov. DeSantis to veto Senate Invoice 1382.
