New Bern is adding much more regional businesses to the historic town.  In accordance to developing permits, 3 current initiatives include a neighborhood center, a restaurant, and a industrial organization. The tasks are among several investments in the city this calendar year, with many being prepared for downtown.  From Jan. 1 to April 30, about 266 constructing permits were being issued in New Bern, totaling tens of millions in renovations for residences, places to eat, bars, motels and other commercial developments. In accordance to permits issued from January to March, 6 businesses were being exposed to be bars and dining places, and there are lodge renovations to be added downtown.
