UK to Serve as Regional Convener for US Department of Energy Business Plan Competition
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 7, 2022) — The University of Kentucky has been chosen to provide as a regional convenor for the U.S. Division of Energy’s (DOE) national EnergyTech College Prize level of competition. Sponsored by DOE’s Workplace of Technological innovation Transitions (OTT), the EnergyTech University Prize (EnergyTech UP) is a collegiate levels of competition complicated multidisciplinary scholar groups to develop and existing a company approach that leverages laboratory-designed and other significant-possible power systems. EnergyTech UP awards funds prizes to teams that successfully determine an electrical power technological know-how, evaluate its market place potential and suggest a method for commercialization. University student teams will contend for a complete of $250,000 in income prizes.…

Students Pitch Problem-Solving Business Ideas at SJSU Innovation Competition
Four SJSU graduate students studying biotechnology pitched their business idea, Environzyme Biosciences, at the 18th annual Silicon Valley Innovation Challenge. Four biotechnology graduate students at San José State University recently discovered a concerning problem: In the research labs where they were interns, the majority of single-use plastics were not being recycled because of contamination. Entrepreneurs ages 18 to 25 invited to apply Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation is seeking applications for new business ideas from entrepreneurs who are 18 to 25 years old. The Aspiring Entrepreneurs Business Competition will support the growth of three new businesses in southern Minnesota. A prize pool of $15,000 will be divided among the three finalists.
